The UNC School of Government mourns the passing of retired faculty member Anne Dellinger, who served among the ranks for 31 years with distinction. Dellinger joined the then-Institute of Government in 1974, beginning her work in education law. As the School’s resident expert in this field, she travelled across the state giving lectures and advice to school board members, superintendents, and principals.

When the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services unveiled plans for a new Broughton Hospital campus, it presented both a great challenge and immense opportunity for Morganton and Burke County, North Carolina.  The facility would be located near—and serve as replacement for—the historic Broughton Hospital campus, a psychiatric hospital originally opened in 1883.

The UNC School of Government is saddened to share the passing of Laurie Mesibov, former faculty member and UNC Faculty Ombuds. Mesibov passed away on March 31, 2021, after a 19-month battle with glioblastoma. Her obituary is available here.
