Program Overview

In a rapidly evolving world, local governments must navigate complex challenges and opportunities. Keeping Pace: Trends in Local Government equips administrators and public officials with insights, tools, and strategies to adapt to emerging trends, foster innovation, and lead with confidence. Through expert presentations and engaging discussions, participants will explore key topics shaping the future of local governance.

Who Should Attend

This program is designed for graduates of the Municipal and County Administration Program, as well as city and county managers, department heads, and other local government professionals dedicated to advancing their communities.

  • Date: Tuesday, April 29, 2025
  • Location: UNC School of Government, Room 2601
  • Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Lunch included)
  • Parking: Parking pass access instructions will be sent a week prior to the program 
  • Reception: Immediately following class in the SOG Atrium
  • Fee: $225 (discounted fee for MCA Graduates - $175)

Parking Location: Knapp-Sanders Deck (adjacent to the School of Government)
Address: 400 South Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27514
The deck has two levels: the top level is at street level, and there is an additional level below ground.

Parking Access & QR Code Instructions:
You will receive an email with a QR code for parking access by Thursday, April 24th.

How to Access Your QR Code:
1. Open the email and click “Click here to print ticket or add to phone wallet.”
2. Choose one of the following options
*Add to Apple/Google Wallet on your mobile device.
*Download and print a PDF version of the QR code.
Entering & Exiting the Parking Deck:
• Scan your QR code at the entrance scanner to raise the gate.
Troubleshooting:
• If you misplace your QR code or experience issues, use the intercom at the Transportation & Parking office. They can remotely raise the gate for you.
