Legal Framework for North Carolina's Elder Protection System - Employer's Bundle

This bundle contains four resources dedicated to North Carolina’s elder protection system. 

• Legal Framework for North Carolina’s Elder Protection System – This manual provides an overview of the bodies of law that serve as the foundation for North Carolina’s somewhat fragmented elder protection system. 
• Roadmap to the Legal Framework for North Carolina’s Elder Protection System – This resource provides a summary-level snapshot of the connections and workflows that can exist in North Carolina’s elder protection system. 
• Preventing, Identifying, and responding to Elder Abuse in Incompetency and Adult Guardianship Cases:  A Bench Card for North Carolina Clerks of Superior Court – This bench card is intended to help Clerks of Superior Court prevent, identify, and respond to elder abuse, incompetency, and adult guardianship cases where the clerks is the presiding judicial official. It includes guidelines for both before and after the appointment of a guardian. 
• Power of Attorney Flowchart – This guide answers questions for those appointed guardians when wards have either a Durable Power of Attorney (POA) or a health care POA, and provides processes for either terminating or suspending authority.
