North Carolina Pattern Jury Instructions for Civil, Criminal, and Motor Vehicle Negligence Cases, 2023 Edition (eBook)
North Carolina Pattern Jury Instructions are sample jury instructions organized by legal topic. Trial judges use them for particular cases based on the relevant law and facts, and share them with juries as guidance for reaching a decision in their cases. The instructions are created and compiled by The Pattern Jury Instruction Committee, made up of trial judges assisted by the School of Government and supported by the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts.
Each year the North Carolina Conference of Superior Court Judges Committee on Pattern Jury Instructions publishes new and revised pattern jury instructions for civil, criminal, and motor vehicle negligence cases. Beginning this year the School is offering all current, new, and updated instructions in a comprehensive, searchable, and printable PDF, one for Criminal, Civil, and Motor Vehicle. Each PDF volume contains a list of new or updated instructions making it easy to identify and print copies of instructions should you choose to update your printed editions. The result is a manaegable file for each volume at a reduced cost.
Individual PDFs of updated instructions are available for free download here. Among the changes are new civil instructions related to breach of fiduciary duty and new and revised criminal instructions for the arson offenses created by S.L. 2022-8 and for the changes to organized retail theft crimes enacted by S.L. 2022-30.
