
Sonyia Turner joined the Development Finance Initiative at the School of Government in 2019. Prior to that, she served as a fellow with DFI and The Center for Community Capital and worked with the North Carolina Community Development Initiative (NCinitiative.org) with disaster relief efforts in Eastern NC. Sonyia holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental design and architecture from North Carolina State University, and an M.A. in city and regional planning with a specialty in housing, community development, and real estate development from UNC-Chapel Hill.
