G.S. 90-85.36
Prescription orders on file in a pharmacy may be disclosed only in limited circumstances, including:
to the patient or the patient’s legally authorized representative;
with the written authorization of the patient or the patient’s legal representative;
pursuant to a subpoena, court order, or statute;
when necessary to protect the life or health of any person.
