Knapp Library
The Joseph Palmer Knapp Library houses a large collection of material on state and local government, public administration, and management to support the School's instructional and research programs and the educational mission of the Master of Public Administration program. Reference and research services are available to all residents of North Carolina, and additional assistance is available to state and local government personnel, both elected and appointed.

Sonja Matanovic is the associate dean for strategic communications for the School of Government.

She joined the School of Government in 2013. Previously, Matanovic served as director of communications at the International Center for Journalists in Washington, an organization that provides training and support to journalists around the world. Her prior experience includes marketing the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS); promoting philanthropic programs for Merrill Lynch; providing administrative support for Head Start programs in Allegheny County, PA; and writing and editing reference books for MTM Publishing.

Matanovic earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago and a master's degree in international public policy from Johns Hopkins University.
