Knapp Library
The Joseph Palmer Knapp Library houses a large collection of material on state and local government, public administration, and management to support the School's instructional and research programs and the educational mission of the Master of Public Administration program. Reference and research services are available to all residents of North Carolina, and additional assistance is available to state and local government personnel, both elected and appointed.

Alecia Matthews serves as assistant director of the School of Government's ncIMPACT Initiative.

Matthews's career in higher education includes project management in the UNC School of Government dean's office, graduate program management at the UNC School of Nursing, and adjunct instruction at NC State University, among other experiences. Previously, she served in the U.S. Army. Matthews earned a BA in public communication from the State University of New York College at Buffalo, a master's degree in higher education administration from the University of Kansas, and an EdD from UNC Wilmington.
